Titles list top diameter × bottom diameter × height. Match those three numbers to the shade you are replacing, or to the harp stack height you need covered. A 13" bottom needs more base clearance than a 9" compact drum. Large 12×14×10" drums belong on floor lamps more often than on petite bedside bases.
